DOS attacks take place in such a way that the attacker establishes a large number of legitimate connections with the service, thus overloading it and disabling it for real users. The tool we use to protect against this type of attack is Fortinet’s FortiWeb (Web Application Firewall) – a great tool for protecting web applications.
